We've been teaching scuba since 1979 and offer a wide range of dive classes and events through our Vero Beach and Stuart stores. Come join us!

Career-Level Dive Classes

We also offer career-level training through EASE (Eastern Academy of Scuba Education). If you are a dive career student, please visit our EASE site. Veterans, we are a VA-approved program. Please inquire if interested.

We offer a full range of PADI classes from the beginning diver to the expert. Deep Six is a PADI five star career development center. It has been rated the number one dive shop in the state of Florida by Florida Magazine multiple years in a row. Our Dive Instructors are known as some of the best in the business and our shop is licensed by the Commission for Independent Education. Deep Six is one of the few Dive Schools in the state of Florida that is approved by the state.

Open Water (Beginner) Diver

If you have always wanted to learn to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. Your first step is to complete PADI's online eLearning course to gain the knowledge you'll need. Move to the pool and practice your new skills. Then experience four open water (ocean/lake) dives. As a PADI Open Water Diver, you’ll be trained to a maximum depth of 18 metres/60 feet, and are qualified to dive in conditions as good as, or better than, those in which you trained. It’s just the beginning of a lifetime filled with dive adventures. Our PADI Open Water course is a life changing experience, but it can also give you the opportunity to gain up to two college level credits through the American Council on Education (ACE).

  • Age Requirement: 10 years or older
  • Course Prerequisites: Able to swim; medically fit for diving. See medical form here. If you have any of the conditions listed on front page, you will need your physician's signature to attend class.
  • Course Format: Group class: $350 + $195 for the e-Learning; Private: $650 + $195 for the e-Learning. Course fees include class materials, certification card, use of scuba equipment (BCD, regulator, octopus, gauges/computer, tanks), and your certification dives.
  • Equipment needed: Fins (with boots if needed), mask, snorkel, surface signal marker, and wetsuit (if desired) for the in-water portion of the class. These items are critical to each diver, and unique to each person. Most SCUBA equipment can be acquired through rentals, but it is necessary to have these basics fit correctly and comfortably to have a successful and safe dive. Consult your instructor on how to choose the proper fit and brand for your needs

Advanced Open Water Diver

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about exploration, excitement, and experiences. It is designed to increase your confidence and build your scuba skills to become more comfortable in the water. You can enroll in this course as soon as you complete your PADI Open Water certification, so it’s a great way to get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn under the supervision of your PADI Instructor. This course builds on what you’ve learned and develops new skills by introducing you to different ways to have fun while scuba diving. Includes five dives!

  • Age Requirement: 12 years or older 
  • Course Prerequisites: Open Water Diver/Junior Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification); medically fit for diving. See medical form here.  If you have any of the conditions listed on front page, you will need your physician's signature to attend class.
  • Course Format: Scheduled by request. Cost: course fee + $183 for the e-Learning.

Enriched Air/Nitrox

The Enriched Air NITROX course is PADI’s most popular specialty. Diving enriched air lets you safely extend your no-decompression bottom time, which means more time underwater and shorter surface intervals. After you complete your ELearning for this course, you’ll attend one classroom session for review. Two open water dives are optional.

  • Age Requirement: 12 years or older 
  • Course Prerequisites: Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification); If taking class with 2 dives, medically fit for diving. See medical form here.  If you have any of the conditions listed on front page, you will need your physician's signature to attend class.
  • Course Format: Scheduled by request. Cost: course fee + $180 for the e-Learning.

Emergency First Response

Take a step toward emergency preparedness and meet PADI Rescue Diver Prerequisites with the Emergency First Response course. As one of the foremost international CPR and first aid training companies, Emergency First Response gives you the confidence to respond to medical emergencies, not just in the diving world, but in your everyday life!

  • Course Prerequisites: Adventure Diver/Junior Adventure Diver (or qualifying certification) with completed Underwater Navigation Dive; EFR Primary and Secondary Care training (or qualifying training) within 24 months; medically fit for diving. Rescue Diver

The PADI Rescue Diver Course is often called one of the most challenging, yet rewarding, SCUBA courses by those who complete it. This course expands on what you already know about preventing problems and teaches you how to manage them if they occur. The fun part about this course is rising to challenges presented to you and mastering them. Most divers find this course demanding, but all say it’s the most valuable course they’ve ever taken.

  • Course Prerequisites: Adventure Diver/Junior Adventure Diver (or qualifying certification) with completed Underwater Navigation Dive; EFR Primary and Secondary Care training (or qualifying training) within 24 months; medically fit for diving. Basic Freediver

Learn basic freediving principles and focus on practicing breathhold techniques in a pool during this one-day class. It's a great first step for developing solid freediving skills. This course consists of 2 main phases- knowledge development & confined water sessions.

  • Age Requirement: 12 years or older 
  • Course Prerequisites: You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with snorkeling, skin diving or freediving is required. See medical form here.   • Course Format:  Group class: $225 + $189 for the e-Learning.
  • What gear do I need?  Mask, snorkel and fins; wetsuit during the cooler months. Using gear designed specifically for freediving is best, however, in this course, you may be able to use snorkeling equipment you already own.
